Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Police Officer position with the Town of Twisp Police Department offers a unique opportunity to serve as a trusted first responder and key member of a close-knit, community-focused agency. Working under the direction of the Chief of Police, officers take an active role in patrol operations and are often the primary point of contact between the department and the public.

As a highly visible representative of the department, the Police Officer plays a vital role in building positive relationships, promoting public trust, and maintaining a safe and welcoming community. This position is integral to achieving public safety goals through proactive policing, problem-solving, and the fair enforcement of the laws of the State of Washington, as well as local ordinances and policies.

Hiring Status

The eligibility list is a continuous listing and maintained as scores are received from PST with oral board interviews conducted on an as-needed basis. Vacancies are filled by Civil Service "rule of five" with the top five candidates forwarded to the appointing authority for background investigation & selection as vacancies occur.


Salary Information

Salary:

Entry Level $74,838 to $78,624

Lateral $79,976 to $85,966

Candidates will serve a twelve (12) month probationary period.


Benefit Information

BENEFITS:

This is a full time Police Officer position with excellent benefits to include:

•Medical Insurance (employee only) to include dental/vision and life/AD&D

•Ability to earn Compensatory time up to forty (40) hours

•Ability to earn sick leave - eight (8) hours per month up to 720 hours

•Ability to earn vacation leave – forty (40) hours after the first six (6) months of employment

1-4 yrs 80 hours

5-15 yrs 120 hours

15+ yrs 160 hours

•Ability to obtain disability leave (work related injury) and bereavement leave up to five (5) days per year
