The City of Ocean Shores, Washington is 1 ½ hours west of Olympia, Washington and is located right on the ocean. Ocean Shores is nationally known for having an excellent atmosphere for relaxation, maintaining an exceptional quality of life, a low crime rate, and a fantastic area for fishing and hunting. The City is approximately 9 square miles and has 6 miles of beachfront and 26 miles of interconnected freshwater lakes and canals. Ocean Shores has approximately 6500 full time residents and experiences nearly 5 million visitors annually.

Department Information

The Ocean Shores Fire Department is a progressive department dedicated to the safety of the people we serve. We provide services in fire suppression, emergency medical services (ALS), rescue services, fire prevention, hazardous materials, public education, and disaster mitigation. We are a combination career/volunteer department. Ocean Shores Fire Department provides service for the City of Ocean Shores and the North Beach area. We currently have 4 ambulances, 3 engines, 1 ladder truck , and 2 brush trucks. We respond out of two fire stations with our primary duty crews working  A, B, C shifts on a 48/96 schedule. In 2018, OSFD responded to 2397 alarms with 82% of calls EMS related and 18% fire related.

Salary Information

Starting salary: Will be based from the current bargaining agreement between the City of Ocean Shores and IAFF 2109. At the time of posting, the current starting salary is $5905 - $7177  per month.
