Must be: 21 years of age; a U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident; able to read, speak and write the English language fluently.

Must: Have no convictions for a felony offense, possess a high school diploma or GED, have a valid Washington State driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the City and the City's insurance carrier. (Free of serious or frequent violations).

Lateral applicants: Certified by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC) - or a police academy from another state (on case by case basis). The academy must be accepted by Washington State CJTC.

*Successful completion of polygraph and psychological examinations, physical exam, drug screening and criminal background investigation are required prior to hire.

Community Information

Located in North Central Washington on the Columbia River, Grand Coulee is home to the Grand Coulee Dam - the largest hydro-power generating facility in the U.S., which also provides water for the Columbia Basin Project. The dam is the largest employer in the area. Best known for the dam and the surrounding water attractions, outdoor recreation is a large part of the community. Boating, fishing, hunting, hiking, and other activities are enjoyed throughout the year.

Department Information

We are comprised of 8 full time officers, including the Chief of Police. Aside from patrolling the town, our agency is under contract with the Bureau of Reclamation to provide law enforcement services at Grand Coulee Dam.

Our officers work a 12 hour shift schedule - 3 days on, 3 days off - with rotating weekends for everyone.

Salary Information

Entry Level Police Officer - $31.07/hour

Lateral Police Officer - dependant on experience level.
