Important Information

The Corrections Division is managed by a Commander with 1 Captain, 2 Lieutenants, 5 Sergeants, 5 Corporals, 38 Corrections Officers, and 5 Support Specialists. The current jail opened in 1986 with a capacity of 102 beds. The new Jail opened in 2014 adding 208 beds with a combined capacity of 334. 

The Jail has a Daily average of about 200 inmates.

Hiring Status

Franklin County Sheriff's Office - Corrections Deputy has 14 vacancies.

The eligibility list is a continuous listing and maintained as scores are received from PST with oral board interviews conducted on an as-needed basis. Vacancies are filled by Civil Service "rule of five" with the top five candidates forwarded to the appointing authority for background investigation & selection as vacancies occur.


Salary Information

Starting annual salary $52,815.00

Available Incentive Pays:

Bilingual Incentive Pay - For English/Spanish, or American Sign Language (ASL) bilingual employees, 2% will be added to base salary for employees who have completed the certification process as determined by the Sheriff. 

Education Incentive Pay - Employees will receive an education incentive for a college degree in a related field as determined by the Sheriff. An additional 1% will be added to the base salary for an AA degree and an additional 2% will be added to the base salary for a BA/BS degree.  Degrees must be from an accredited college or university recognized by the State of Washington.
