CPD patrol officers work a unique 12-hour schedule, which includes: 1 four-day weekend and 2 five-day weekends in a 28 day cycle, plus a Kelly Day.

Salary Information

$4,665 - $7,335 per month (2023)

Benefit Information

The Cheney Police Guild benefit package includes: 85% paid medical insurance, 100% paid dental insurance, 100% paid Optical/Vision insurance, 100% paid EAP program, $50,000 Group Life insurance, Long-Term Disability insurance, $90 per month VEBA contribution, 4% deferred compensation match, LEOFF 2 retirement, 12 hours of sick leave per month, 10 - 18 hours of vacation per month (past experience is honored for lateral officers for vacation accrual), 10 paid holidays per year, and 2 floating holidays per year.

Additionally, guild members receive specialty pay for Detective, FTO, and Firearms/DT/Taser/Less Lethal Impact Munitions/EVOC instructor positions. Longevity pay is $75 per month plus an additional floating holiday at 4 years, $100 per month and 2 additional floating holidays at 7 years, $125 per month and 3 additional floating holidays at 10 years, and $150 per month and 4 additional floating holidays at 15 years of employment with CPD. Shift differential pay for Power and Graveyard shifts. Education incentive is $25 per month for an Associate's Degree, $50 per month for a Bachelor's Degree, and $75 per month for a Master's Degree.

New employee bonus: $1,000 upon successful completion of probationary period and $1,000 upon successful completion of 3 years of service with CPD.
