CPD patrol officers work a unique 12-hour schedule, which includes: 1 four-day weekend and 2 five-day weekends in a 28 day cycle, plus a Kelly Day.

Salary Information

$5,534 - $6,729 per month (2022)

Benefit Information

The Cheney Police Guild benefit package includes: 85% paid medical insurance, 100% paid dental insurance, 100% paid Optical/Vision insurance, 100% paid EAP program, $50,000 Group Life insurance, Long-Term Disability insurance, $90 per month VEBA contribution, 3.5% deferred compensation match, 9 hours of sick leave per month,  and 8 - 16 hours of vacation per month (past experience is honored for lateral officers for vacation accrual).

Additionally, guild members receive specialty pay for Detective, FTO, and Firearms/Training Coordinator positions. Longevity pay begins after 10 years of employment with CPD.
