We are now offering a $5,000 hiring bonus for qualified lateral/exceptional entry officers.   The hiring bonus will be paid as follows; $3,000 at time of hire, $1,000 at the 6 month mark, and the remaining $1,000 at the one year mark.

The area has a wide variety of restaurants and attractions for the whole family to enjoy. Some of the other outdoor activities include hiking the Discovery Trail, clam digging, hunting, and fishing. The city is located within a short distance of other coastal communities that offers a variety of shopping and dining establishments.

Salary Information

2022 Pay Scale $5,283 to $6,116. Education Incentive pay 2.5% Associate Degree / 5% Bachelor Degree. Shift differential pay. $5,000 hiring bonus for laterals/exceptional entry officers. The hiring bonus will be paid as follows; $3,000 at time of hire, $1,000 at the 6 month mark, and the remaining $1,000 at the one year mark.

Basic Law Enforcement Academy Certification

Graduation from an approved law enforcement training academy and ability to meet standards prescribed by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission for equivalency.

Prior Experience Requirement

Lateral Candidates: Twenty-four (24) months of full-time paid duty as a sworn police officer in a federal, state or local civilian governmental jurisdiction providing general law enforcement services, and be in said position at the time of application, or retain active commission.

Exceptional Entry Candidates: Prior Experience not required, academy certification is required though.
