All road Deputies must live in the County as assigned. 


Lateral candidates for Lincoln County Sheriff's Office are not required to take the PST physical ability test.

Lincoln County is 2339 square miles in size and is bordered by Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area on the north. Department Information

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is comprised of two divisions, the Patrol Division and the Corrections/Communication Division. The Patrol Division has 10 patrol deputies and 2 sergeants. Patrol Division responsibilities include deputy coroner, marine patrol, traffic enforcement, and criminal investigations

Hiring Status

Lincoln County Sheriff's Office - Lateral Deputy Sheriff has 3 vacancies.

The eligibility list is a continuous listing and maintained as scores are received from PST with oral board interviews conducted on an as-needed basis. Vacancies are filled by Civil Service "rule of three" with the top three candidates forwarded to the appointing authority for background investigation & selection as vacancies occur.  We currently have 2 vacant positions to fill.

Salary Information

$4,299- $5,715 per month plus differential and longevity.

Benefit Information

Employees are covered under medical/vision/dental. Take home cars are assigned to all road deputies.

Automatic Hallucinogen use within past 10 years. No more than 2 uses total.
Automatic Illegal use of 3 or more different controlled substances.
Potential Other drug use outside these standards will be considered on case by case basis.
Automatic No illegal sale of ANY drug, including marijuana.
Automatic Pattern of illegal use of prescription medication.
Criminal Activity
