They are based in the coastal area of the Pacific Northwest region of Washington state in the United States.

This is general law enforcement, crime prevention and investigation work governed by Tribal, Federal, and State Laws.

Physical Fitness Test not required at time of testing. Will be administered at a later date by LNPD staff.

They are based in the coastal area of the Pacific Northwest region of Washington state in the United States.

With a historic territory ranging from the San Juan Islands to interior foothills of the Lummi River watershed, today the federally recognized tribe primarily resides on and around the Lummi Indian Reservation slightly west of Bellingham. It takes in most of the Lummi Peninsula and Portage Island, and is in western Whatcom County, 20 miles (32 km) south of the border with Canada.

Job Description

This is a specialized division of law enforcement, crime prevention and investigation work governed by Title 9, Lummi Nation Code of Laws, Law Enforcement Officers Code.

Natural Resource Enforcement Officers fulfill the responsibility of the Lummi Indian Business Council to maintain community safety governed by Title 10.19, Natural Resources Enforcement Patrol. Natural Resource Enforcement Officers are also specifically responsible to protect the natural resources of the Lummi Nation, through enforcement of Title 10 and Title 13 of the Lummi Code of Laws, by patrolling, monitoring and contacting members during harvesting efforts and closed season(s) to detect and/or prevent illegal harvest activities.
