Test Day Requirements - Police / Sheriff

  • You must bring valid government-issued photo identification. You will not be allowed to test without proper identification.
  • Don’t forget your notarized “Applicant Liability Waiver and Release Agreement”. If you do not have your waiver notarized we will have a notary available at the test site for a fee. The notary will only be available until 10 minutes prior to the test beginning.  If your waiver is not notarized, you will not be allowed to test.
  • Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled testing time for registration. If you arrive late you will not be permitted to test and will be required to reschedule.
  • Wear clothing/shoes appropriate for the physical ability test. If not dressed for the physical ability test, there will be a few minutes following your written exam to change clothes.

Allocate approximately 6-8 hours to complete both the written and physical ability tests.

The following items are NOT ALLOWED in the written test room:
Bags/Purses, Backpacks, Mechanical Pencils, Electronic Devices of any kind (including but not limited to: Cell Phones, Pagers, Watches, Cameras, Calculators, PDA’s, MP3 Players, etc.) or any other items determined inappropriate by testing proctors. It is your responsibility to secure these items prior to entering the written test room. If any prohibited item is discovered, you will be disqualified.

The written examination will be administered first. If you received a passing score of 70% or higher on the written exam, you will participate in the physical ability test which immediately follows the written exam.  You must successfully pass both the written and physical exams for your application and score to be made available to the departments to which you have applied for. If, for whatever reason, you anticipate that you will not be able to participate in the physical ability test immediately following your written exam, you should reschedule your test date to another time.  Some civil service commissions require both tests be completed on the same day.

Don’t forget that you may test for any law enforcement and/or corrections agency from any state at any location we are testing.  So, if you’d like to test for WA, ID and/or AK agencies at the same time, or add any agencies to your application, please login to your account and Add or Drop agencies as you wish before your exam date. You must add departments to your list before you start your written exam.  You will not be allowed to add any agencies that were available to you on test day.

You may also test for law enforcement and corrections officer at the same time.
