Spokane County Fire District 8 provides a full range of services that include fire suppression, emergency medical services, fire prevention, education and investigation, and associated support and maintenance services to our 21,724 citizens in a 110 square mile area in south Spokane County. SCFD8 members responded to 3,090 incidents in 2018 from the District's four fire stations located in the Moran, Valleyford, Ponderosa, and Saltese areas. Each station is staffed twenty-four hours a day with a combination of career, part-time, volunteer and resident volunteer personnel.

Candidates will need to provide Spokane County FD#8 their CPAT certification.

Ability to Read & Write the English Language Yes
Vision Requirements Correctable to 20/20

EMT Certification State of Washington EMT or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
Firefighter 1 Certification International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or equivalent.
Prior FF Experience Required Preferred.
Current Hiring Status The eligibility list is a continuous listing and maintained as scores are received from PST with oral board interviews conducted on an as-needed basis.

Our Part-Time FF’s work an average of 30 hours per week, not to exceed 1,560 hours in a 12 month period.
