Important Information

Candidates must complete the Written testing by February 10th, 2020.  Candidates will not be able to test for this agency after the deadline. Candidates will also need to fill out the agency application on no later than February 10th, 2020.

Selection will occur by the beginning of March 2020. CPAT testing must be completed through Public Safety Testing before the Fire Academy (the Academy will begin in April 2020).

South Pierce Fire & Rescue is a rural department that covers 138 square miles in south Pierce County. The District covers the area of McKenna, Roy, Harts Lake, Lacamas, and the unincorporated area surrounding the Town of Eatonville and the Town of Eatonville on a service contract. This community has several lake, rivers, and hiking trails.

Department Information

South Pierce Fire and Rescue operates with a $6,900,000 budget and currently employs 27 career response positions, 2 Assistant Chiefs, the Fire Chief and 4 admin staff. South Pierce is a combination department working side by side with approximately 20 dedicated volunteer firefighters. The District responds to roughly 3,000 incidents a year. Approximately 85% of these incidents are EMS related. This position falls under the IAFF 726 local. Considerations may be made for those who would be considered a lateral firefighter/Paramedic. This will be reviewed by the South Pierce Fire and Rescue training division and in accordance with the IAFF 726 agreement.

Prior FF Experience Required Minimum requirement – Washington State Paramedic or NREMTP certification. Must be able to obtain WA Paramedic Certification.
