Overview

Maintaining a Consortium applicant list. Each department will obtain names from the consortium list for further testing/processing such as an oral board, background investigation, further testing, etc. Each agency will then establish their own eligibility list. 2020 4th Class Firefighter Wage at Hire: $5,665.04/mo. /  $67,980.48/annually

 

Firefighter 2020 Wage Scale (annual wages):

4th Class: $67,980.48

3rd Class: $77,691.98

2nd Class: $87,403.48

1st Class: $97,114.98

Kirkland uses "continuous testing" to periodically establish/update the Civil Service Firefighter eligibility list.   

Under Kirkland's Civil Service system, only the top-scoring applicants on the written test will be invited to interview for the Firefighter position.

Hiring Status

Kirkland Fire Department plans to establish a Civil Service Firefighter eligibility list for 2020. The Department anticipates interviewing three hundred applicants, based upon written test score.

In order to be considered for this round of interviews, candidates need to successfully complete both the written and CPAT tests by February 28, 2021.
