Department Information

Thurston County Fire District 6 (East Olympia Fire District 6) is a combination department serving approximately 13,000 residents over 30 square miles. We provide automatic aid to the nearby cities of Lacey, Tumwater, and Olympia, in addition to neighboring fire districts.  We are part of the working fire assignment to most fires in our area. The department averages 1,200 responses a year.  Shift employees work out of two modern stations and have access to a full range of exercise equipment.

Salary Information

Hourly Salary starts at $15.50 - 16.50 an hour.  Part-time firefighters work 156 hours a month and are assigned to one of three shifts.

Benefit Information

State Mandated Sick Leave provided.  The District covers costs for outside training on a case-by-case basis.

Other Candidate must be able to drive and operate District apparatus within one year.

NWCG Certified Wildland FF II preferred, required within six months of hire date.
