The City of Brier is a wonderful community located just 15 miles North of Downtown Seattle, located in Snohomish County. The City of Brier is approximately 2.1 square miles in size, contains 27 miles of streets & roads and has approximately 7,000 residents. This beautiful community also consists of modern single-family homes and has vast open spaces, scenic parks and wildlife.

The city is governed by a Mayor/City Council form of government. The city is mostly residential and still maintains some "rural" feeling, but is close to I-5 and I-405.

The Brier Police Department also provides 24/7 coverage of the city and works collaboratively with neighboring agencies when mutual aid needs arise. The City of Brier endeavors to provide its Officers with the resources, technology and the support needed to ensure excellent policing, investigations and successful prosecutions. FAST TRACKED BACKGROUND PROCESS

The eligibility list is a continuous listing and maintained as scores are received from PST with oral boards conducted on an as-needed basis. In all examinations the minimum grade or standing for which eligibility may be earned shall be 70%. The relative weight is as follows: 40% for the written examination and 60% for the oral examination plus veterans credit if entitled pursuant to Chapter 41.04 RCW as amended. Vacancies are filled by Civil Service "rule of three" with the top three candidates forwarded to the appointing authority for background investigation and selection as vacancies occur.
