Community Information

The City of Sedro-Woolley is a community of approximately 10,000 people located in the beautiful Skagit Valley, with the Skagit River forming part of the southern city limits. The city has a rich logging industry heritage and is currently experiencing steady residential and business growth. Sedro-Woolley is the "Gateway to the North Cascades", and is home to the North Cascades National Park Headquarters. Recreational opportunities abound in the area with easy access to both salt water and snow capped mountains.

Department Information

The Sedro-Woolley Police Department is a full service department providing 24-hour law enforcement services within the city limits. The department has an authorized strength of 17 sworn officers: 1 Chief, 3 Sergeants, 2 detectives and 11  patrol officers. In addition, the department has 1 administrative assistant, 2 records/evidence clerks, 1 code enforcement officer and 1 transcriptionist/data entry clerk. The department responded to approximately 10,000 calls for service in 2016 and anticipates a slight increase in 2017. The department has a hostage negotiator assigned to a county-wide response team as well as other specialty opportunities. The City of Sedro-Woolley has a newly constructed city hall, including offices for engineering, planning and the muni court. The new construction was added to the existing Public Safety Building. As a result the Public Safety Building was remodeled and the police department was expanded. We moved into the new facility in March, 2008.
