The commission may place candidates on an eligibility list if they meet other requirements for application. Only applicants that have at least 45 credit hours toward an Associate’s Degree and meet all other requirements for application will be placed on the eligibility list. If the list is issued to fill a vacancy and applicants are on the list that has not successfully completed an AA Degree they will be disqualified and removed from the list. X

Current Hiring Status

The eligibility list is a continuous listing and maintained as scores are received from PST. Oral board interviews are conducted on an as-needed basis. Vacancies are filled by Civil Service's "rule of five" with the top five candidates forwarded to the appointing authority for background investigation and selection.


Salary Information

$4,775.01 - $6,685.02 per month

Entry level Paramedic/Firefighters shall begin at the Probationary Firefighter pay grade if they possess IFSAC I certification.  Entry Level employees that do not possess IFSAC I at time of appointment shall enter at the Recruit Firefighter pay grade.
