Community Information

The Duvall Police Department serves a population of just over 8,000 people. We are one of the fastest growing communities in the state. We are small, yet diverse and rich in history and tradition. Our residents represent many walks of life and represent an exciting cross-section of occupations and cultures.


Duvall is located on SR-203, approximately 25 miles northeast of Seattle, halfway between Monroe and Carnation, and is fast becoming a favorite residential community for both commuters and for those who choose to conduct business in a small town setting.


The City of Duvall was incorporated in 1913 under the Mayor-Council form of government and currently provides a full range of services, including police, public works, planning, building, and some recreational services to include some of the nicest parks in the valley. The City of Duvall has approximately fifty (50) employees, from all walks of life.

Department Information

The Police Department provides services to the City of Duvall for the protection of persons and property, with a strong emphasis in community policing. These services include general law and traffic enforcement, criminal investigations, DARE, and emergency service coordination and support. The Department currently has nine Commissioned Police Officers, two Sergeants, one Lieutenant, and one Chief. Duvall Police Department is a member of the Coalition of Small Police Agencies (CSPA).

Salary Information

Base Salary: $6,281.65 - $ 8,473.48 per month.

Benefit Information

Medical, dental, vision and orthodontics for employee (100%) and family (employee pays $100.00); $100,000 life insurance plan; VEBA account with employer contribution. 

Vacation ranges from 85-200 hours a year.  96 hours annual sick leave; 110 hours of additional pay added to salary to compensate for 2190 hour annual work cycle; 10 paid holidays paid double time and a half if working that day; 2 personal days off.

Take home patrol vehicle during work week and physical training time while on duty.

Longevity 2%-8%; Instructor stipend, $2500 longevity/retention at 5 years of continuous employment.

12 hour shifts with 4 days on and 4 days off.

All equipment provided including firearms, jumpsuits and tac vest.
