Community Information

Burlington is the "hub" of Skagit County. Located along Interstate 5, north of Mt Vernon. Agriculture provides a major employment base. The city has industrial development land close to the freeway and the Port of Skagit County regional airport. Burlington is the site of a major shopping mall with a multi-plex movie theatre, a large factory outlet center,and a thriving downtown business district. Just north of Burlington there is a casino and hotel/convention center. Burlington-Edison School District has five elementary schools, one high school. Skagit Speedway is just north of the city. Skagit Golf and Country Club, as well as the public 27-hole Avalon Golf Course are just outside the city limits.

Department Information

Our department currently has 27 commissioned officers. Of those officers, we have a Chief, Assistant Chief, Lieutenant, 3 Sergeants, 1 Detective Sergeant, 2 detectives, and 1 Community Resource Officer.  We have 4 records personnel and 1 Administrative Secretary. Our patrol vehicles are set up with MDTs including Spillman Public Safety software.  Specialty positions include SWAT, CNT, DT and Firearm Instructor.
