Community Information

The City of Black Diamond is located in western Washington near the greater Seattle area as well as the scenic and picturesque area of the Cascade Mountains and Mt. Rainier. The City is situated in King County and has a current population of over 4,000 people, including the 4th largest recreational lake in King County, Lake Sawyer. The City is anticipating rapid growth with a projected population of 20,000+ within 15 years. A historic mining town, Black Diamond of the new millennium has become an oasis for citizens yearning for a taste of rural Washington, yet only minutes from the hustle and bustle of the larger cities.

Department Information

The Black Diamond Police Department is comprised of: Chief of Police, Commander, two Sergeants, and Patrol Officers. Also, we provide marine patrol during the summer months. We are a member of the CSPA (Coalition of Small Police Agencies). The department is committed to the philosophy of community policing and encourages pro-activity.
