Community Information

Everett is the largest city in Snohomish County, as well as the economic, financial, governmental, medical, communication and cultural center of the County. The current population is approximately 109,000. Everett is located 26 miles north of Seattle in one of the most desirable regions in the United States. Everett is the home of Boeing wide-body commercial airplane manufacturing as well as a variety of high-tech enterprises. The Port Gardner waterfront is the home-port of the Navy aircraft carrier USS Nimitz, contains the second largest marina on the west coast, and is the site of a significant waterfront condominium project in the early stages of development. Everett is a beautiful city with many recreational opportunities and great place to live, to work, and to raise a family.

Department Information

The City of Everett employs 6 Engine Companies, 2 Ladder Companies (1 cross staffed), 3 Medic units, and 2 Aid Cars.  The department also has cross staffed HazMat and Technical Rescue units. There are six (6) fire stations located throughout the city. There are 175 uniformed firefighters employed. In 2017 the Department had a total call volume of 23,934, of which 17,237 were EMS incidents.

Other Hiring offers are contingent upon successful completion of an additional second City-paid CPAT (to be scheduled after a hiring offer has been made), LEOFF medical evaluation and medical history review, which includes drug testing, and a psychological evaluation is a condition of employment. Applicants who receive employment offers shall be subject to an extensive background to include a Washington State Patrol background inquiry pursuant to RCW 43.43.832. Union membership is required within 30 days of hire
