The College Place School District recently opened three new schools; elementary, middle and high school. We are also home to Walla Walla University.

Department Information

The College Place Police Department is responsible for providing law enforcement coverage 24 hours per day, seven days a week and includes patrol, community response, traffic, investigation, police records management, and police administrative services. The Police Department operates with a budget of just under $2 million, and is budgeted for a total of 18 officers and support staff. Current staff in the department includes the Chief, eleven patrol officers, one detective, two patrol sergeants, a records supervisor and records clerk. The Police Department also has one part-time reserve officer. Working closely with Walla Walla Police Department, Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office, Milton-Freewater Police Department, and neighboring Columbia County, the College Place Police Department went live with New World Computer Aided Dispatch in August of 2016.

Basic Law Enforcement Academy Certification Applicant must have successfully completed the Washington State Basic Law Enforcement Academy or be a graduate of a municipal or regional Basic Law Enforcement Training Academy or equivalent, as accepted by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission. Graduates from accepted out-of-state academies will be required to successfully complete the Washington State Basic Academy Equivalency Test and become certified as a Washington State police officer.
Prior Experience Requirement Must have two years full-time law enforcement experience.
