3. Written Exam
* Upon completion of the entry level exam, all candidate scores are automatically
forwarded to the Snohomish County 911 Human Resources Department. Candidates
who attain a passing score of 85% or higher on the entry level exam will be placed on
the department's eligibility list. Snohomish County 911 will contact candidates on the
list and will invite them to continue to participate in other stages of the selection process.

4. Snohomish County 911 Employment Application to be completed by going to the below website and clicking on the Trainee Dispatcher position.

5. Panel Interview

* Currently conducted via Zoom or in-person at one of our locations.

6. Polygraph
* PST to coordinate test.

7. Background Consent/Waiver Form and Personal History Statement
* Snohomish County 911 NCIC consent form emailed prior to background process

8. Background Investigation
* 6 – 8 week process, PST to schedule and conduct investigation.

9. Psychological Assessment
* Appointments conducted virtually utilizing a combination of online assessment and virtual interview with psychologist.

10. Pre-Employment Drug and Hearing Screen
* Scheduled locally with medical provider, 1 hour appointment.

11. Fingerprinting

* Completed prior to first day of employment. This will be coordinated with the SNO 911 Human Resources Department.

SELECTION STANDARDS

Snohomish County 911 employees have a high level of responsibility and perform a vital role in public safety. Due to the nature of public safety work, candidates are required to successfully complete a thorough, intense and strict pre-employment background investigation. Making the decision to apply for a position in public safety is a choice that should be considered carefully. Salary Information

Wages are determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Currently starting at $32.53 with step increases up to $42.39 for Cross Trained Dispatchers.

The typing test is a critical component of your written test score and you are required to complete the online typing test within 90 days (before or after) your written exam. You will be allowed four (4) attempts at the typing test every seven (7) days and are responsible for selecting the score that you want PST to forward to the agencies you have applied with.
